Michael Elwan interview EquiVoices - Multicultural Perspectives in Mental Health

I recently had the chance to sit down for a chat on the Equi Voices multicultural mental health interview, and I have to say, it was a wonderful experience. Being interviewed by Estela Fuentes was an absolute pleasure; her passion for multicultural mental health and cross-cultural wellbeing is infectious, and it made the whole conversation flow like a natural catch-up over a cuppa. She's got this genuine fire for amplifying diverse voices in the mental health space, and it really shone through in our discussion. If you're into stories that cut to the heart of real change, I reckon this one's worth your time.

One of the highlights for me was touching on my role as an advocate for multicultural mental health. We talked about the unique challenges faced by diverse groups and how we can build more inclusive support systems. It was also humbling to chat about being featured by Suicide Prevention Australia as one of just two Stories of Hope for World Suicide Prevention Day 2025. That recognition means the world, and it underscores why I'm so committed to this mission.

If you missed the live broadcast on EBI.FM 103.1, no worries at all; you can catch the full recording anytime. Head over to this link: https://5ebi.com.au/programs/equivoices-multicultural-perspectives-in-health/?episode=1756261800.

It's a great listen whether you're in the field, supporting someone, or just curious about how we can all contribute to better mental health outcomes. Give it a go; I promise it'll spark some thoughts and maybe even inspire you to get involved.
