Scope of Services
LEXs offers counselling, coaching, peer supervision, and consultancy that are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in lived experience and professional expertise. While Michael Elwan is an Accredited Social Worker (AASW), LEXs does not provide crisis intervention or medical care. Our services are not a substitute for psychiatric diagnosis, medical advice, or acute mental health treatment. We do not provide services for individuals who:

Are currently experiencing psychosis or have an untreated history of psychotic disorders.

Are in an acute suicidal crisis or engaging in active self-harming behaviours.

Are under the influence of hard recreational drugs or have an untreated history of recent drug dependence.
If you are in immediate distress or experiencing a mental health emergency, we strongly encourage you to contact your local mental health crisis service, call Lifeline on 13 11 14.

Personal Responsibility
LEXs services are designed to support emotional wellbeing, reflection, and growth. As such, your outcomes are influenced by your own engagement, readiness, and personal responsibility in the process. We encourage you to take an active role in your mental health care, and where needed, seek collaborative support from GPs, psychologists, or psychiatrists alongside your work with LEXs.
